TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) — An event in March will feature food prepared by an award-winning chef, art and a chance to support the Lee County Library.
Plans were announced this afternoon for a fundraiser organized by “The Friends of the Lee County Library.” The event will take place March 20th and is called “A Novel Affair.”
It will feature well-known chef Robert St John, who will prepare a meal as guests watch and water color artist and book illustrator Wyatt Waters will create a painting of the event.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for the event and organizers say it’s a new way to support the library.
“We’d love a new library but we know that’s probably in the future, but just to continue with books , continue with the bookmobile, they would love to get a new bookmobile for the library which is so important, it goes out into the counties and stuff like that where people can’t get into Tupelo to the library so we just want to do something to raise some money and to make better use of our library,” said Event Chairperson Becky Rollins.
