Video: Lowndes Voting Precincts To Change

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Lowndes County voters will soon be casting their ballots at a new location.

County supervisors approve moving the Columbus High School precinct to East Columbus Gym.

Voters who go to Columbus Christian School will now vote at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Circuit Clerk Teresa Barksdale says the move ensures voting will continue if a bomb threat were ever to be a problem at the school on election.

Barksdale says there is also a small cost savings to the county.

Voters will be notified by mail about the changes.
