Columbus Police Arrest Man After Traffic Stop

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) —

Columbus Police Press Release:

On March 29th at 11:22 a.m., a Columbus Police Officer stopped a vehicle driven by
Javario Hackman on 7th Avenue North.
Hackman was charged with several misdemeanor charges and arrested for an
outstanding warrant for Simple Assault.
During the traffic stop, a pistol Ak-47 was discovered in the passenger compartment
of the vehicle.
The gun was recently purchased legally by the passenger although Hackman is a
convicted felon.
The gun is being held in police custody pending a Grand Jury decision.
