Video: Ala. Teachers Accused of Having Sex with Students

PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) — The husband of a Pickens Academy coach accused of having sex with a student is now charged with the same crime.

District Attorney Chris McCool says 32-year-old James ‘Jamie’ Franklin Parker, III – the husband of Charli Parker – is also charged with a school employee having sex with a student.

Jamie Parker also coaches the boys’ basketball team and teaches at Pickens Academy.

The allegations against Parker involve a former female student.

McCool says the incidents happened away from school property.

On Wednesday, 30-year-old Charli Parker is now facing 11 counts of a school employee having sex with a student.

She was arrested Monday.

McCool says the allegations involve one male student and did not take place on school grounds.

Parker is the head coach of the girls’ basketball team and is a PE teacher at the school.

McCool says he expects more charges against Jamie Parker to be filed Thursday.

He adds, the criminal acts involving the Parkers were both separate and unrelated.
