Video: Monroe County Sheriff Conducts Drug Round-Up

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s a van ride these people weren’t expecting on Tuesday. The driver..officers with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Amory Police and the Department of Corrections.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says he will not tolerate any drug use in the county.

“so, if you sell drugs we’re asking you to quit, which you’re not, but we’re asking you to quit, and if you don’t we’re going to be at your house , we’re going to be making visits to your neighborhoods.”

The sting operation has been in the works for the past two and half months.

“our motto is if you deal with drugs in Monroe County, we’re going to deal with you at some point.”

Sheriff Cantrell asks for the community’s support in the fight against drugs in Monroe County.

“your eyes are our eyes.”

He says to contact the Sheriff’s department if you know of any drug activity going on in the community.
