Video: Lowndes County Store Receives Minor Damage in Fire

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County store escapes serious damage after a fire this afternoon.

Fire trucks surrounded JR’s Get it and Go just after 12:30.

The store is just off Airport Road, near the Industrial Park.

Fire coordinator Sammy Fondren tells WCBI the fire started in an unoccupied office.

The store did not receive any fire damage, but there was smoke damage.

The roof was also scorched from the heat.
