Aberdeen Duplex Destroyed in Early Morning Fire
ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) — Two Aberdeen families are homeless, after an early morning fire destroyed their home.
Fire Chief Frank Gladney tells WCBI it happened at a duplex on North Project Street around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday.
A woman there had been cooking, when some grease caught fire.
She thought she got the fire out, but it spread to the attic, and the rest of the building.
She grabbed her three kids and called 911.
Both families got out safely, but lost almost everything.
It took firefighters a little more than two hours to get the blaze under control.
The duplex is a total loss.
