Video: Winston Medical Center To Rebuild At Same Site

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Louisville Mayor Will Hill says Winston Medical Center will be rebuilt at its current East Main Street location.

The hospital was heavily damaged in the April 28th tornado earlier this year.

Hill says a lot of discussion went into rebuilding at the same site. Reimbursement implication and the process to get a critical assess designation went into the decision.

Right now, talks are continuing on what the new building will look like.

“A lot to unfold with the design, because there is a lot of players involved. It’s being all inclusive with department heads, the local physicians; everyone’s getting an influence on how it’s to be designed,” explained Hill.

Hill said there are also discussions to expand the hospital property.
