Video: Parents Demand Justice

Baldwyn, Miss. (WCBI) — The parents of a 20 year old Iuka man are asking for prayers and justice after their son is kidnapped, severely beaten, and sexually abused.

Joseph Borden and Melisa Jones Borden asked for their son’s name to be kept private due to the incident.

The parents said their son traveled to Decatur County, Tennessee, where he met with an ex-girlfriend, Felicia Doyle, who had asked for his help.

On February 21st of this year, Decatur County Sheriff’s deputies said the Borden’s son met Doyle at a Sonic restaurant in Parsons, Tennessee when Joseph Doyle, Felicia’s father, Mason Niece, David Parrott, and Cody Parrott chased after the 20 year old by car and into the woods, eventually beating and sexually assaulting him.

Borden said law enforcement and medical staff told him and his wife that their son was lucky to be alive.

Borden said his son has gone through several plastic surgeries to repair the damage to his face, and faces surgery Friday that could decide whether he will lose an eye. “Most of all, it’s emotionally draining, for the rest of his life…”, said Borden.

Investigators said the incident stemmed from a report that the Borden’s son assaulted Doyle three weeks prior to the incident. Doyle dismissed and dropped the charges on March 7th.

The family said Doyle admitted to lying about the charges.

The Borden’s son is also a father to a two year old. “He’s a great, big hearted guy…”, said Borden, “…he is very involved with sports through schools, all-star pitcher, all-star kid, has a beautiful two year old daughter that he loves very much…”

David Parrott was arrested and charged with Criminal Responsibility for Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault.

Mason Niece was arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping.

Joseph Doyle was arrested and charged with Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, Rape, and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Cody Parrott is still a wanted national fugitive for Criminal Responsibility for Especially Aggravated Kidnapping, and Aggravated Assault.

The family said that Doyle bonded out of jail and that they are “unhappy” with the court’s decision to lower his initial bond amount.

“I want to remind the mothers that do have children…”, said Jones Borden, “…they grow up in life and you can’t always be there to protect them. While you got them, give them hugs and kisses and remind them how much you love them because you never know when you might get that phone call saying they don’t know whether your son is going to make it.”
