Video: Acclaimed Writer Visits MSU

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at Mississippi State University are getting writing tips from an accomplished author and speaker.
Dorothy Allison is the guest for the university’s annual Writer-in-Residence program.
During her visit this week, Allison is meeting with a creative writing class and participating in an informal discussion session with the Gender Studies Program.
She is also working with students individually during office hours and encouraging them to expand their writing beyond social media.
Allison’s best-selling novel “Bastard Out of Carolina” was a finalist for the National Book Award and was made into a film.
