Video: Monroe County Sheriff’s Department Makes Drug and Bootlegging Arrest

NETTLETON, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County father and his two sons were  arrested Monday, and  after deputies seized 15 dogs, marijuana, and moonshine in a possible dog fighting ring.

Investigators arrested the men in the 30 thousand block of Okolona Road this afternoon.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said the Pitbull dogs had injuries, and a horse may have to be put down.

Deputies also found a large amount of cash, scales, alcohol, dope and hydrocodone pills.

“Selling drugs and fighting dogs out here…raising dogs and mistreatment of animals and things and it’s just against the law and we’re not gone have it here in the county.”

Cantrell says official charges against Russell Jones and his sons, Jeremy and Patrick, will be released Tuesday.
