TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Before lunchtime on Thursday, orders were being placed in Showroom 6204, the home to Houston, Texas based Classy Art.
“We get a lot of our art here, they always have a good selection of pictures , and any kind of wall art,” said Tammy Armstrong, of T & D Furniture of Pearl, Mississippi.
This is the 54th time owner Isaac Cohen has attended the Tupelo Market.
“We always did good at this market , and we keep on coming, you got to stick to your guns and this is one of our best markets,” Cohen said.
A few doors down, things are busy in the showroom of Okolona based J Henry Furniture.
Virgil Henry says his company writes more orders at the Tupelo Market than at any other.
“I think retailers that come here are prepared to buy when they walk in the door, if they find the right product then they will order it,” Henry said.
There are nearly 50 new exhibitors at this market. New Hampshire based Tempoe specializes in no credit required shopping and want to partner with retailers.
“The people who have stopped by have expressed a lot of interest in the program so we are getting a lot of quality people stopping by the booth,” said Alex Pascoal, of Tempoe.
Mayo Furniture from Texarkana, Texas is another new vendor and believes the market will help it reach Southeast buyers.
“We have customers that may not can come to High Point, but they can come to this, and they can see the furniture and touch it , sit on it, something that’s really important to them, so they can be able to order off that, instead of just looking at pictures,” said Erica Cruson, of Mayo Furniture.
The 58th bi annual Furniture Market wraps up Sunday.
The Furniture, Gift and Home Accessories Show in Building One of the Tupelo Furniture Market is open to the public.
