Video: Preparations Underway For Bi-Annual Furniture Market

TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Last minute preparations are underway for an event that brings in a lot of visitors and money to our area.

The biannual Tupelo Furniture Market officially starts Thursday, although many buyers and exhibitors will be ready to do business Wednesday.

About 10,000 people from across the world will place orders for stores, and sell furniture and accessories.
The president of the Tupelo Furniture Market says the event is great promotion for the workforce in Mississippi.

“What a lot of people don’t know is Mississippi has more than 200 furniture manufacturers as well as 500 suppliers in the industry, so Mississippi is number one in terms of shipping upholstered furniture, so for this region and this country, anybody looking for upholstered furniture and furniture in general, they’re going to come to Mississippi,” said TFM President Kevin Seddon.

The Furniture Market kicks off Thursday. There is a “Gift and Home” Accessories show which is opened to the public. It all runs through Sunday.
