Video: North Mississippi Students Win Reading Contest, Egg Bowl Tickets

WCBI – Two north Mississippi students cheer for two different teams, but are winners in the Mississippi Association of Educators’ “Be A Champion and Read” contest.

Alcorn Central Elementary first grader Tatum Horne takes home second place to represent Ole Miss.

Meanwhile, fourth grader Ryan Thomas of Wheeler is the overall champion and represents Mississippi State.

The contest encourages the 15,000 students who participated to make reading fun.

The students received two points for every book they read.

Horne and Thomas both won three tickets to this year’s Egg Bowl in Oxford.
