Video: Elementary Students Celebrate Digital Learning Day

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The next generation of movie makers could be at a Columbus elementary school making their own video, thanks to a famous producer.

Stokes-Beard students have created eight characters to help teach their fellow classmates about Internet safety.

The animated characters even have their personality.

Terry Thoern, who produced “Rugrats”, provided the software.

Stokes-Beard students are the only group in the state with this technology.

The project allows the kids to learn new skills by writing scripts, while producing and creating educational videos.

“We try to give them the opportunity to share their creativity the innovation and just not try to box them in so basically have to design and create fantastic video that’s going to send an important message to students of their own age.”

Wednesday was National Digital Learning Day.
