Man Accused Of Injuring His Mother

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Barry Gildea, 57, of Columbus is charged with aggravated domestic violence.

Police say the investigation centers around his mother Trudy Gildea.

She is the longtime owner of the historic home 12 Gables in downtown Columbus, where the idea of Memorial Day is said to have first occurred.

Trudy Gildea was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was listed in good condition on Friday afternoon.
