Three Charged in Prentiss County Theft Cases

heriff’s deputies arrested Michael Paul Pounds, 33, of 144 CR 4181 in New Site, and charged him with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining or Disposing of Stolen Property.  The charges
stemmed from the theft of a John Deere lawn mower stolen Sept. 2 from
Booneville.  The mower was recovered.

The department’s investigation led to two

other arrests , both on Sept. 11.
Arrested were William Todd Bryant, 46, of 99 CR 3151 in Booneville, and

Pounds

Joseph Wolf Walters, 27, of 14 Burleson Road in Mantachie.  Bryant was
charged with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining and Disposing of Stolen
Property and Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine)
enhanced while in Possession of a Firearm.

Walters was charged with Receiving, Possessing, Retaining, Disposing of Stolen Property.  Bonds have been set for Pounds at $10,000 with a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Bryant’s bond was set at $10,000 for the two charges and Walters has a $5,000 bond set but has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

During the investigation, detectives executed search warrants
at Pounds’ and Bryant’s residences.  During the search of Bryant’s
residence, officers discovered a pull trailer that had been stolen the
previous day from the Farmington Community in Alcorn County and a
quantity of methamphetamine.
