Video: PACCAR Host GTR Officials on Tour of Lowndes County Plant

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – City and county officials from the Golden Triangle got an inside look at truck manufacturer PACCAR this morning.

The tour is part of an ongoing educational effort to encourage area officials to become familiar with industries in the Golden Triangle.
PACCAR is a Fortune 500 company and was ranked the third-largest manufacturer of medium and heavy-duty trucks in the world in 2011.
The company came to Lowndes County in 2010.

“They employ quite a few residents of the Golden Triangle as well as some outlying communities. But not only from tax boost to work force boost, they are a wonderful partner for the community,” says Macaulay Whitaker, with the Golden Triangle Development Link.

PACCAR is an international company and has been in business since 1905.
