Video: District 17 Special Election Candidates Debate At MUW

COLUMBUS, Miss., (WCBI) — Job creation, serving the people, and filling the legacy left behind by veteran Mississippi Senator Terry Brown.

Those were just a few of the topics addressed at Tuesday night’s District 17 State Senate Debate.

Held in Poindexter Hall, all of the candidates fielded questions asked by members of the W’s student run newspaper, “The Spectator.”

Bill Canon, Bill Gavin, Bobby Patrick, and Chuck Younger all participated in the last and only debate before the November 4th election.

The winner will serve the remainder of Brown’s seat, who passed away earlier this fall.
