Mississippi Power Storm Crew Heads To Alabama To Help Storm Victims
ALICEVILLE, Ala. (PRESS RELEASE) – Mississippi Power crews are aiding a neighboring utility after severe storms knocked out power to thousands in West Alabama.
Approximately 12 linemen and support personnel from Meridian are making the 75-mile journey to Aliceville, Alabama to help restore electricity to 5,000 customers.
According to Alabama Power’s storm outage map, more than 14,000 customers were without power at the height of the storms late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Although storms also caused damage in Newton, Lauderdale, Neshoba and Kemper counties, Mississippi Power reported no widespread outages.
The Meridian crew is expected to return later today.
