STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – An Oktibbeha County group is working to help those in rural areas to help themselves.
The Unlimited Community Agriculture Cooperative (UCAC) hosted the first Save Rural America Conference Friday at the BJ3 Center in Starkville.
The UCAC was established in 2013 to allow farmers and rural small business owners to network and take advantage of opportunities in agriculture, community development, and self-development.
President Orlando Trainer just wants to help people in the community connect.
“We’re trying to bring information to people who need information, and bring people to the information, so people can be more productive in their livelihoods and contribute more so in society.”
Organizers are already making plans for future conferences.
