COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus leaders now say locations that haven’t had a significant problem in the past five years do not have to go through a number of requirements.Venues that host events with more than a hundred people where alcohol is served must apply for a permit, and also have an inspection, security and insurance.
If the property has a problem in the future, it will have to operate under the new rules for two years before earning another exemption.City leaders say the original rules put too many limits on places like hotels and the American Legion where problems haven’t occurred.
