Miss., Ala. Among Top 4 Generous States in Country

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) — A new study shows southern states are some of the most generous in the country.

Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee are among the top four states that donate the most to charity.

Mississippians donate nearly $50 of every $1,000 they earn, and Noxubee County is the most giving.

In Alabama, residents donate a little over $48 for every $1,000 earned.

The study comes from the Chronicle of Philanthropy.

Utah was the number one giving state.
