MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A family feud turns fatal, leaving two men dead and two women injured.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, the shooting happened at a home on Coontail Road, near Aberdeen.
Cantrell says around 5:20 p.m Friday, 46-year old Mickey Sudduth arrived at the home. Words were exchanged between him and his ex-father in law, Robert Mize. Those words turned into bullets.
Both men involved in the gun fire were fatally wounded. Mize’s wife and daughter were the women involved. One female on the scene was shot in the side, and is currently in the hospital. Another woman also took a bullet the arm.
“Both of them probably have over six or eight gunshot wounds each, as far as we know. That’s just from the scene. The sheriff’s office found evidence of several gunshots, where they went in the house,” says Alan Gurley, Monroe County Coroner.
“We’re process the crime scene at this point, gathering all of our evidence and trying to piece together what happened. We will be interviewing the other two victims that were here tonight,” adds Sheriff Cantrell.
Cantell says Mize’s daughter and Sudduth recently divorced. The men’s bodies will be taken to Jackson for an autopsy.
