Angela Jones has been hired as Executive Assistant for the Columbus mayor

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Angela Jones is hired to become the next executive assistant to the Columbus mayor.

She will also work as the Action Center Clerk.

Jones comes to the city from Mississippi University for Women.

She will make 55,000 dollars a year.

The city says by combining roles, the city will save at least 17,000 dollars a year.

Jones was involved in Mayor Keith Gaskin’s campaign.

Gaskin broke a three-three tie to hire her.
