Video: One Starkville Police Officer Terminated – Two Disciplined

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -A Starkville police officer is out of a job after a meeting of the mayor and aldermen.

Monday night Starkville aldermen voted to fire one officer, and discipline two others.

In executive session, the board denied Officer Jeremy Akin’s request to resign, but approved Chief Frank Nichols’ request to fire Akin’s.

Aldermen also approved Nichols’ disciplinary action against two police officers.

Board members declined to comment on the issues.
