Video: Man Crashes Jeep Into Water At Columbus Marina

Jeep crashed into the water at the Columbus Marina.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A driver is in jail after a wrecker had to fish his jeep out of the Columbus Marina.

The crash happened just before 6:30 on Wednesday night.

Interim Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton tells WCBI the unidentified male driver was backing up or turning around when he drove the jeep into the water.

The driver was able to get out of the jeep and get to shore.

Emergency responders checked him out before he was taken to jail and charged with DUI.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle.
