Columbus, Mississippi (WCBI) – Troubles continue for financially strapped KiOR.
The NASDAQ Stock Market said it will suspend the trading of the company’s stock on September 23rd because KiOR cannot meet certain financial obligations.
In a financial filing, the biofuels maker reported it would run out of money, possibly in September, if a buyer or investor isn’t found.
In the same filing last month, KiOR said it could file for bankruptcy if its financial situation does not improve.
The company still owes the state of Mississippi more than $69 million. The Mississippi Development Authority is delaying payments until the end of October to allow KiOR to raise money.
Employees have been laid off at the company’s idled facility in Columbus.
