Columbus, Mississippi (WCBI) – A woman seriously injured when a car hit the back of her bicycle will receive some help with her expenses, as she continues to recover in a Jackson hospital.
The Lisa Landrum Benefit Fund is set up to take donations at any BancorpSouth bank branch.
Organizers say Landrum is stable but in serious condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She will need multiple surgeries to recover.
An awareness bike ride in Landrum’s honor is also being organized.
The back tire of Landrum’s bicycle was hit Wednesday morning by a car driven by an unidentified 79 year-old woman on Spivey Road in Lowndes County.
The triathlete hit the car’s windshield and was thrown about 75 feet.
