Video: Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle Holds Open House for Maternity Ward

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle is offering better care to new moms.

The hospital held an open house in its maternity department for expectant mothers Sunday afternoon.

Nurses gave tours of the delivery rooms and discussed some of their programs, like Skin to Skin and the 39 Week Initiative.

One expectant couple says the event gives them an opportunity to learn about the delivery process as their due date quickly approaches.

“We came here today to just kind of learn about birthing at Baptist, some of their programs and initiatives and be as prepared as we can before we have our first baby in about three weeks,” says expectant mom Rachel Vadais.

Participants were also given information about taking care of a new born. Refreshments and drawings for door prizes were also held for the new moms and dads.
