Flags will be lowered to half staff next week in honor of Lt. Mike Boutte
HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Flags will be lowered to half-staff next week to honor a fallen Hancock County deputy.
Lt. Mike Boutte was shot and killed in the line of duty on Monday.
Governor Tate Reeves ordered flags to be lowered on Tuesday to honor the deputy. That’s the same day funeral services will be held.
Reeves called Boutee “a selfless and courageous police officer who dedicated his life to service.”
Boutte had 20 years of law enforcement experience as a deputy and in his military career.
Hancock County is on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
