WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) — Some residents are coming together to help the man who was beaten up at a West Point restaurant last weekend.
Residents will gather at First Baptist Church in West Point, Monday, to pray for the victim, Ralph Weems.
Weems suffered brain damage after being attacked by a group of men in the Huddle House parking lot early last Saturday morning.
So far police have made two arrests, and they’re still investigating.
Now the community is praying for Weems, and for unity in the city.
“We have a sense of community here in West Point. There is no angst, no anger. It was a terrible situation that happened. A good friend of mine. I’m friends with the family and that should never have happened. I don’t think anybody from West Point would have done something like this. >
The prayer service for Weems will be held at First Baptist Church in West Point at 10 a.m.
