TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Carver Elementary School students got in a little cardio Tuesday.
Healthworks! brought games, a pulse meter, and a giant inflatable heart and lungs to the Tupelo school.
Students are learning about the heart and lungs, along with the importance of regular exercise and a healthy diet.
“It is important for them to understand that exercise and eating properly helps their heart and lungs and their whole body be healthy, what we also taught is how their body systems work, in correlation with the health competencies of the state of Mississippi.”
Healthworks! will visit all K -2 schools in Tupelo during the month of December.
