That wasn’t the only first last season for the Rams: CCA also won the school’s first ever playoff game.

Now, the team wants to go after even more for 2015. But, there’s still much work to do.
“We lost five pretty good seniors but we have seven guys returning on defense and six on offense,” head coach Greg Watkins said. “We have confidence going in from the last two years playing for a district title and winning the district title and competing with the team that won State. That’s what we’ve been needing the past few years is knowing you can play with somebody.”
The team remains the same for the most part going into 2015, which will give CCA even more confidence they can make a deep run.
“It’s basically the same team as last year only losing two to three good players,” junior Maurice Dantzler said. “We want to make more progression in the playoffs than what we did last year. We’ve been working hard in the summer with no days off.”
“We have some hard workers coming back for us and good leaders,” junior Dawson Shaw said. “I’m expecting a good year.
“We want to get that district championship and make it back to the playoffs and hopefully make it to the State Championship.”
Columbus Christian will start the season on the road at Heritage Academy before coming home to face Sylva Bay Academy and Kirk Academy.
