Man Sentenced in Death of Eupora Officer

EUPORA, Miss. — Brandon Johnson, 27, of 6111 Bowling Drive, Orlando, Fl., was sentenced today in Grenada County Circuit Court to two 40 year sentences to run concurrently.

Johnson was convicted as a habitual offender. Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery and one count of second degree murder
The judge ordered Johnson to serve day-for-day with the no chance for parole or early release.

Eupora Police Officer Keith Crenshaw died Oct. 23, 2013 after being struck by a vehicle Johnson and two other individuals used as a getaway vehicle. They had fled Grenada County and led officers on a high-speed chase after being spotted in Montgomery County.
Crenshaw was killed as the suspects tried to avoid spikes in the road on Highway 82 near Eupora and spun out of control, striking him in the median.

Johnson’s accomplices died as a result of the crash.

Nathaniel Robinson, 22, of 2500 Colonial Drive, Orlando, died at the scene. Frank Levon Maye, 33, of 4173 Versailles Drive, Orlando, died the next day at a Tupelo hospital.
