Former Itawamba County Economic Officials Accused Of Stealing Thousands

FULTON , MS (WCBI) -The former interim director of the Itawamba County Development Council and his wife have both been accused of stealing from the economic development group.   Harvey Clements and his wife Sandy are both charged with embezzlement after being indicted by an Itawamba County Grand jury.  The indictment says the amount taken is more than 25 thousand dollars but doesn’t give a specific figure.  Harvey Clements served in the interim role from July through December last year.  Sandy Clements was already working as an administrative assistant for the Council when her husband started working.   Both left their jobs in December.   At that time ICDC Board members claimed it was because Three Rivers Planning and Development had been hired to take over job recruiting for the county.
