CORINTH, Miss. (AP) — Administrative employees of the Corinth School District are getting pay raises.
A local newspaper reports the district’s Board of Trustees voted for a 4 percent raise, including for Superintendent Lee Childress.
The employees received a 3 percent annual increase in 2013.
The board also voted to grant hourly-wage employees a 25 cents-per-hour raise. School bus drivers will get a flat raise of $200.
Pay for substitute teachers will rise by $3 a day.
Board member Frank Davis says the area’s economy is improving and the district has money available for the increases. He says the raises also will help the district attract and retain top employees.
