COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County will also have a new Circuit Clerk for the first time since 1992.

Teresa Barksdale was elected to replace long time Circuit Clerk Haley Salazar.

Barksdale says the office has always been a part of her and her family’s life.

“I’ve been in this office for 20 years, um, and that’s my life history. My mother worked here for a long period of time so I had a little bit of history based with the office.”

Barksdale has experience working in the criminal department and others throughout the office.
