Video: Lowndes Deputies Charge Man with Arson

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A Monday morning house fire in Lowndes County turns into an arson case.

Deputies have charged 50-year-old Merida Emil Colvin with arson.

Lowndes deputies believe Colvin, who managed to escape when his 2-story home on Westbrook Road caught fire, was responsible for starting the early morning blaze in the attic.

The home was heavily damaged by smoke and water.

Colvin was charged Monday afternoon. No word yet on bond.
