BURNSVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A world class manufacturing facility opens its doors in Tishomingo County, and brings two hundred new jobs to the region..
Governor Phil Bryant and area business leaders were in Burnsville today to celebrate the grand opening of Mississippi Silicon.
The high-tech facility will produce silicon metal for a variety of uses in the automotive, aluminum, and chemical industries. It’s also producing an economic boom for Tishomingo County and the surrounding area.
“It’s big. It’s one of the biggest things that’s happened to the state. You know a private investor investing 200 million dollars of his own money. You know usually if you get that much it’s government or something.
” That’s what we like to tell people. We’ve got the very best workforce in the world, and so they are coming from around the world here to Mississippi because of that.”
Mississippi Silicon is a multi-national partnership between Rima Holdings U-S-A and Clean Tech.
