Video: Lowndes County Nearing Completion on VFD Projects

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Improved fire coverage is as close as one month away in one Lowndes County community.Workers are finishing the inside of the Volunteer Fire Department building in Crawford. They expect to be ready to go next month.

Concrete work is underway at the Lowndes County Volunteer fire department in Caledonia. That building should be ready in December. And one month later, the building at Prairie Point will be fully operational. Dirt work is being done there now.

The fire departments will repay the county for the upgrades. Lowndes County will own the buildings.
