ARTESIA, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at West Lowndes High School get a healthy dose of the ” Real World” Tuesday.
Juniors and Seniors took part in a ” Reality Fair”. The students were given budgets based on their GPA’s. Higher Grades meaning bigger paychecks. Then they had to pay the bills.
Organizers say the Reality Fair helps students realize the impact of an education on their lives after school.
” So they will be better prepared when they graduate from high school. It also encourages them to increase their GPA. They get an opportunity to see, based on what my grades are in high school, that’s a direct correlation to what kind of job I would have.”
” The Reality Fair” teaches students here about life after high school. It’s teaching us how to manage, and how important things are in the real world.”
The Junior Auxiliary of Columbus sponsored the event.
