Video: One Dead After Officer Involved Shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — One man is dead after an officer involved shooting Friday evening in Columbus. The shooting took place around 11 during a traffic stop at the intersection of 21st and 15th Street. Coroner Greg Merchant says the victim is a black male but his name is not being released at this time. Assistant Columbus Police Chief Tony McCoy says since a Columbus officer is involved the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will be in charge of the investigation.
