Video: Teachers Honored by CREATE Foundation

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Teachers throughout the Tupelo School District were honored for their hard work. Sixty-four educators and their assistants were nominated for 2015 “Teacher of Distinction” Awards. Those teachers who received the awards received$1,000.00 cash, teacher’s assistants got $500.00.

The awards are a joint effort between the Association for Excellence in Education and the CREATE Foundation.

“Teachers do not get the encouragement and accolades they deserve , they do so much in our community, they do so much for our children and we often hear people coming in about the critical things going on in education, our teachers are a bright spot and we want to let them know we really appreciate what they do.”

The luncheon was sponsored by the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs of Tupelo.
