Itawamba Sheriff’s Department Investigating Fatal Stabbing

ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Deputies are investigating a fatal stabbing in Itawamba County.

Sheriff Chris Dickinson says they responded to a home on Mount Gilead Road in Fairview, shortly before 6:30 Thursday night.

Deputies found a woman dead from a knife wound.

Dickinson tells us he doesn’t know how many times she was stabbed. He says right now they have 52 year old Jimmy Carpenter in custody, but they haven’t charged him with anything yet.

Investigators are still searching the woman’s home for evidence.
