Active Shooter Alert on MSU Campus
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- A suspected shooter on the MSU campus is apparently in custody.
Here’s what we know. A Maroon Alert went out less than an hour ago alerting students and faculty to an active shooter on campus.
Per protocol, everyone was asked to seek shelter. Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department is working the scene along with MSU campus Police.
No injuries were reported. There are no details at this time as to the identity of the shooter or the motive.
Activity was said to be in the vicinity of Lee Hall and Carpenter Halls on campus. We have reports that the shooter was apprehended at McCool Hall.
The lockdown was lifted. Class will resume at 2 PM.
