Bass Pro’s Crappie Masters Tournament Trail Comes to Columbus
COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters tournament trail comes to Columbus for a two day qualifying tournament on June 6 and 7. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Mercury Motors and the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau, anglers will compete for prizes and the opportunity to go to the 2014 National Championship.
Voucher pick-up and late registration will begin at 5 p.m. on June 5 at the Lion Hills Country Club, 2331 Military Road, Columbus. A supper banquet for participating anglers will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the rules meeting at 7 p.m.
The weigh in will be held at the Columbus Marina located at 295 Marina Dr. Anglers will fish from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on both days of competition. They must be in the weigh in line by 3:30 p.m.
Fishable water boundaries are between the Amory Lock and Dam to the north, and the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam to the south.
A free kids fishing rodeo will be held on June 7 for kids 15 years of age and younger. Kids can register from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. They will fish from 9 – 10:30 a.m. The fishing rodeo will be held at the Columbus Marina.
All participating kids will receive a prize package from Crappie Masters sponsors. Kids need to bring their poles and bait.
Next on the tournament trail will be the One Pole Ultimate Challenge on Truman Lake. The tournament will be on June 20 and 21.
