Breaking: Police Investigate Threat Against Starkville Mosque

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville police are investigating a Facebook post that talks about burning down the mosque in Starkville.

Starkville Police Chief Frank Nichols says officers are in the early stages of the investigation.

The unidentified poster made statements suggesting the Islamic Center of Mississippi be burned down.

No one has been charged, at this time.

SPD was notified Thursday evening about the comments on social media.

Nichols doesn’t believe there is an immediate threat but officers are making extra patrols in the area.
