Grant to Improve Williams Home Site, Catfish Alley Link
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The public will get even more access to two historic downtown Columbus landmarks.
The state has awarded a $160,000 grant to make two alleys linking Catfish Alley and the Tennessee Williams Welcome Center more pedestrian friendly. The grant, plus $10,000 from the city and $30,000
from the Convention and Visitors Bureau includes a stage on greenspace next to the welcome center and landscaping in the area.
It’s part of a larger plan to tie together the city’s downtown with the popular Riverwalk, downtown park and soccer complex and historic sites.
