UPDATE: CAFB Main Gate Reopens After Possible Threat Detected Earlier this Morning
COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — The Columbus Air Force Base Main Gate was closed to inbound and outbound traffic May 20 after a military working dog detected a possible threat during a routine vehicle inspection at 10:01 a.m.
Security Forces evacuated and secured the area until Tupelo Bomb Squad deemed the area all clear.
After personnel secured the area some two hours later, the gates reopened for traffic.
